On the train finally. After a whirl wind of activity to get our packing done and get our house ready, we are finally underway. We have a cute little sleeping car for two people. Right now I am just comfortable not moving or checking things off our “to do” list. Now whatever we did not take care of we just didn’t get to. Time to relax for 31 hours to Portland.
Kerstin and Eddie came over at 8:15 to load our bikes and bags into Eddie’s pickup. Great help for us as it was the perfect vehicle for all the gear and the giant bike boxes. Only slight panic when we got on the freeway and one of the bike boxes wanted to fly away. Eddie slowed down to under 50 and things calmed down. Safety flashers on we crept along slowly down to downtown LA and Union Station. Easy check in at loading dock. Goodbye hugs and well wishes and we were off to the train. Surprise surprise Oliver was there to see us off. Iphone in hand for some last pictures.
